Please join us November 2-12, 2023 as an Act of Rememberance. Donations are very appreciated to help us continue to offer the Field of Crosses Project.
“Field of Crosses” a visual memorial where over 220 white crosses are installed in City Park, close to the Cenotaph, to commemorate the lives of the Canadian Armed Forces personnel who lost their lives in the service of their country. This project will create a visual remembrance for each of the names inscribed on the Kelowna Cenotaph.

The Field of Crosses is an initiative of the Rotary Club of Kelowna. It was first brought to life in 2018 with partnership and cooperation from the Okanagan Military Museum and Society, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, the BC Dragoons and Cadets, plus local volunteers.

We ask Families to bring their Kids to pay their respects, tour in small groups, learn about our heroes, and understand the meaning of Remembrance Day.
We are excited to welcome students back in 2023! One of the key outcomes of our 2019 event was providing students an opportunity to walk among the crosses and research the information on the names. Local Grade 7 -9 classes have been invited to participate for the week leading up to Remembrance Day 2023. The field trips involve morning visits to the Field of Crosses site and the Okanagan Military Museum for 30 students each day.
The Field of Crosses Opening Ceremony will be held on November 2nd at 11:00am near the Cenotaph and is open to everyone. Recognition will be given to local relatives whose loved ones are named on the crosses.

People can visit any time, 24 hours a day, from November 2nd to November 12th, to walk among the crosses in reflection and remembrance. The staging area is well lit after dark to provide safety and illumination of the crosses for nighttime visits.
On November 10th at 4:30pm, the public is invited to attend a moving, candlelight ceremony at City Park near the Cenotaph.
